The One Dice

Digital gaming dice - Design - Engineering - Crowdfunding support

One dice

The one dice was born out of an open brief to enhance the board game experience through a digital device. The original concept focused around a single dice with adaptive features to make the product feel customised to the user, enhancing the board game experience all while retaining the tactile familiarity of rolling a dice. Tasked with designing the product from the ground up, we were able to ensure the original vision was carried through the project, from engineering right through to manufacture, with the triumphant 2025 crowdfunding campaign highlighting the success of the project and the value Centreline can bring.

Refined Engineering

As an innovative product, we were able to navigate the many challenges that arose while engineering. Prototyping played a big role in assessing the feasibility of the unit, with the device required to land face up on every dice role. The weight distribution, size, durability and electronics limitations were optimised throughout the development, giving not only a great product, but also a feasible business model through manufacturing optimisation. We worked alongside our partnering electronics engineers to offer the client an all in one, hassle free experience that made sure all the focus could be put into the best product outcome.

Adaptive animations

The dice is loaded with over 100 different animations, customisable to the user and offering a bespoke experience for any game. Biometric sensors in the device seamlessly detect and display dice rolls, with the software providing a fully random result each time. The UX and UI played a huge role in the user journey, working in harmony with the physical product to ensure a seamless experience for the user.

All design and engineering work was carried out by Centreline and partnering electronics engineers.

On the GO charging

The charging case was developed alongside the dice to provide a rounded user experience in a compact package.
