The ADM AFO forms the core component of the night bracing system. For the first time mainstream state-of-the-art modern footwear design and manufacturing technology has been applied to meet the very challenging clinical requirements of bracing clubfoot patients. Using lamination technology and EVA foam, the AFO offers a lightweight, high-strength and comfortable solution unlike any other on the market.
The patented Abduction Dorsiflexion Mechanism provides the only credible alternative option to the traditional boots-and-bar brace for clubfoot patients. It is the only clubfoot brace that can be worn unilaterally and shown to be effective. Many children are unable to tolerate the traditional “boots and-bar” type of brace until 5 years of age and experience severe complications as a consequence. The ADM provides these patients with an alternative conservative treatment option and avoids a need for complex foot surgery, which is not always successful.
The ADM External Rotation Bar provides a modern, lightweight, elegant and convenient to use implementation of the Denis Browne bar style Foot Abduction Brace. For busy clinics, time is saved by not having to train parents in bar adjustment and instead the parent uses the bar configuration prescribed for their child. As the child grows, low cost longer bars can be provided along with the next size in sandal. This brace is worn during night until the patient is 5 years of age and prevents a corrected clubfoot from relapsing.
