Employee Spotlight - Jack

So you can get to know all of our incredible team here at Centreline we're doing a series of employee spotlights, this week it’s the turn of Jack, who joined us in June 2023.

What is your job role? In a nutshell what do you do?

After completing a yearlong internship with Centreline, I have now successfully been taken on as a junior industrial designer. Based in the Nottingham studio, I work on a wide range of exciting projects alongside the team undertaking everything from artwork and packaging up to advanced design engineering and production packs for manufacture.

What challenges you on a day to day basis?

I would have to say time management and juggling several projects at once. Being able to quickly switch my mindset and thoughts from project to project is something that I struggle with, although I do enjoy having multiple projects on the go at once, sometimes I find myself investing too much time into one over the others.

What’s the most useless/ interesting talent you have?

I possess the not so healthy ability to arrive at work in the morning and not leave my seat once until I leave at the end of the day.

Something new you’ve learned in the past month?

Every day presents an opportunity for me to enhance my design skills and refine my workflow. Whether that be through design thinking, concept development or engineering and CAD software, all these skills have been developed in the past month and will continue to be developed throughout my career. Other than work, I have recently taken up golf after not picking up a club since I was eight.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

When not undertaking personal design projects, I have a keen interest for motorsport photography, capturing the speed and excitement of racing at various tracks around the UK. At some point in the near future, I would love to travel to Belgium to visit the iconic Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. I also enjoy playing games, especially partaking in sim racing events and endurance races. The majority of my free time recently has been spent practicing and improving upon my golf swing.
