Employee Spotlight - Betsy

So you can get to know all of our incredible team here at Centreline, we’re doing a series of employee spotlights. This week it’s the turn of Betsy, who started at Centreline earlier this year as a graduate junior designer in our London studio.

What is your job role? In a nutshell what do you do?

My job role is Junior Designer and I'm based in the Centreline London studio. My day to day work involves a mix of sketching, concept work, 3D modelling, engineering and working closely with the Centreline team to see projects through from concept to completion.

What challenges you on a day to day basis?

Managing time efficiently is a challenge; we have a lot of projects to work on week by week so it’s important to prioritise and make the most of every working day . Having graduated last year from an industrial design course it has been a challenge to adapt from working on university projects to now working on client-based projects which are both very different and therefore it’s been a nice challenge to adapt my ways of working.

What’s the most useless/ interesting talent you have?

I can recite all the colours of Joseph and the technicolor dreamcoat (thanks to my year 6 school play).

Something new you’ve learned in the past month?

Having joined the Centreline team in April I’ve learned so much in the last 2 months, all of the team are super talented so I’m continually developing my design skills. In particular I’m learning so much more about design for manufacture, seeing projects through to production is a new learning experience for me and something I’m really enjoying learning about.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

When I'm not working you can usually find me in the gym in the mornings, I do a lot of weight lifting to stay fit and healthy. I also enjoy travelling, my favourite place I’ve visited is New York and I enjoy going out for cocktails and socialising with friends.

What I’ve learned during lockdown?

To make the most of the small things and not to take anything for granted. Spending quality time with loved ones is super important.
