So you can get to know all of our incredible team here at Centreline. We're doing a series of employee spotlights, this week it’s the turn of Adam, who’s been part of the Centreline team for 15 years. Adam joined Centreline in 2008 and is now a lead designer based at the Nottingham studio.
What is your job role? In a nutshell what do you do?
I became a Lead Designer at Centreline after progressing my skill set to a high level and gaining experience in many sectors of Industrial design. I share the responsibility with two other talented Lead Designers, where we lead a team of designers on projects whilst being the main point of contact for clients. My job is to ensure the success of the team and projects, on everything we undertake at Centreline. I love what I do.
What challenges you on a day to day basis?
I work with a talented and friendly team in a great environment, which removes a lot of social challenges and allows me to focus on my tasks. Due to the amazing team, even ensuring the work is truly world-class is something that is a natural process. The main challenge I face is to be progressive in my approach, ensuring the work we produce is truly contemporary.
What’s the most useless/ interesting talent you have?
I can manual a BMX pretty well. I decided to learn this skill a couple of years back for no real reason besides getting out in the beautiful weather.
Something new you’ve learned in the past month?
Learning new things is a huge part of my job role and learning how to learn is a key skill I have developed. In the past month I have transferred my website/app workflow to Figma, having to learn the program fluently and fluidly.
What do you do when you’re not at work?
I have been renovating my house, which has taken a huge amount of time and effort…but that’s not fun. I am a huge geek at heart and really enjoy video gaming, Dungeons and Dragons and painting miniatures.
